Ahead of preparation for electoral campaign for 2027 general election, the All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate for Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola has restated his commitment to inclusive and people-oriented government if he is eventually elected to govern the Gateway State in 2027.
Restating his commitment over the weekend at Ilaro, Yewa South LGA, during a series of strategic engagement in his office, the Senator appreciated the overwhelming support he has garnered across party lines for his candidacy stressing that he will practice inclusive leadership and people-oriented governance when elected to run the affairs of Ogun State.
“I want to re-assure all my supporters, both old and new, that I will run an inclusive, people-oriented and development focused government where no stakeholders will be left behind. My political philosophy is built around consultation, participation, and collective decision making on issues of socio-economic development of our state” he stated.
Among the groups that the Senator engaged were leaders from the Ogun East Assembly (YAYI APEX), Yayi Teachers, Odogbolu Local Government Political Group, former PDP leaders and stakeholders from Ogun West Senatorial District, the Ógù General Assembly (Origin Group) and Triple A (Team Akinlade) group. Key stakeholders in these groups includes Alhaja Salmot Badru, former deputy governor of Ogun State, Hon Adekunle Akinlade aka Tripple A and a former governorship candidate in Ogun State, Hon Jinadu Ahmed, a PDP stalwart for LADO group in Ogun West as well as Comrade Sunday Odunaro, who coordinates Yayi Teaches across 20 LGAs of Ogun State.
The Senator, while highlighting his numerous developmental interventions across Ogun West, Ogun Central, and Ogun East, including road projects, schools, healthcare centres, streetlights, erosion control works, markets, and other constituency projects stated that the success of realizing Ogun state governor of Ogun West origin through him depends on unity, discipline, sacrifice, and sustained grassroots engagement across all parts of Ogun State. He stated that his administration would build on his achievements across Ogun State as well as those of the incumbent government while ensuring that Ogun State’s resources are deployed for the benefit of its people.
Senator Adeola assured all new supporters of a sense and right of belonging following their support for his ambition stressing that he will continue his engagement of all aggrieved or dissatisfied stakeholders.
“I will convene additional reconciliation meetings involving stakeholders and aggrieved political actors to ensure inclusive participation and integration of all support groups into campaign activities” he promised.
Speaking in one of the engagements, Alhaja Badru expressed overwhelming support for Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration by the Ogun West people this time around and acknowledged his developmental interventions, grassroots appeal, political inclusiveness, and commitment to the advancement of Ogun State adding that emphasis now is the need for unity, reconciliation, grassroots mobilization, and strategic coordination.
Hon. Akinlade speaking for his group and the new PDP supporters of the Senator stated that the governorship aspiration of the Senator and Ogun West has gone beyond partisan party politics but a historic duty for equity, justice and fair play in Ogun State’s 50 years history stressing however, like the Ogu Assembly group, that there is need for equal treatment of members, recognition of contributions, inclusion in campaign structures and opportunities for participation in government.
