Aliyu Mohammed has spoken about his late wife Ummulkhairi Usman, the Islamiyya school teacher who was accused of stealing children and burnt to death by a mob in Maraban Jos, Igabi LGA of Kaduna State
According to a report by Daily Trust on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Mohammed stated that his wife was innocent and did nothing wrong
Mohammed said his wife was on her way to attend a religious lecture when people stopped her and accused her of stealing children. He said he was at work when he received a phone call informing him that his wife had been accused of attempting to kidnap children.
Mohammed stated that he immediately called a friend and asked him to go to the scene before he arrived. He said that by the time he got there, the mob had already burnt his wife to death.
