The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred at around 1 pm. The footage shows two men arriving on a motorcycle.
The rider stopped a few metres from the gate of a residential apartment and remained there for several minutes. He was carrying another passenger who did not alight from the boda boda.
At first, everything appeared normal, with routine activities continuing along the road. A woman could be seen waiting for a taxi while vehicles passed by and pedestrians went about their day.

A few minutes later, the calm was shattered by the screams of a visibly distressed young woman. She emerged from the apartment gate, screaming and frantically chasing a man who was running ahead of her.
Why was the woman chasing the men on the boda boda?
The man had allegedly snatched her phone and was running towards the getaway boda boda that had been waiting by the roadside.
“Oh, my God! He has stolen my phone. Please help me, he is running away with my phone! Please help me,” she screamed as she sprinted after the suspect.
However, the man had already climbed onto the motorcycle, which quickly sped off.
The woman continued running after them as other onlookers joined the chase in the hope of helping her recover the phone.
Several residents emerged from nearby buildings and gates, following the commotion and hoping the suspects could be stopped.
“I don’t think she will get it back, that phone is gone,” voices could be heard saying in the background of the footage.
