Nollywood Actress Gina Onuoha has sparked reactions after sharing a series of videos in which she expressed concern over what she described as growing cases of domestic violence, child abuse and toxic masculinity in Igbo communities.
The actress said she had been disturbed by videos and images she received in recent days, prompting her to speak out.
According to her, being a provider does not give any man the right to abuse women, stressing that character and integrity—not money—are what make a man.
Gina also condemned women who mistreat children placed in their care, describing such acts as abuse that should not be excused under culture or family arrangements.
Calling on traditional rulers, churches and community leaders to intervene, she urged them to begin addressing the issues openly before they become worse.
The actress further advised women in abusive relationships to walk away rather than remain in situations that put them or children at risk.
“There is a problem in Igbo land,” she said repeatedly, while urging both men and women to do better.
