Veteran Yoruba Actor Dies in Auto Crash

Veteran Nollywood actor and comedian, Adeshina Okiki Oshin, popularly known as Janmole, has died following a road accident.

The incident, which reportedly occurred recently, brought an abrupt end to his decades-long career in the Yoruba film industry.

The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, confirmed his death on Tuesday, 2 June, 2026 via a post shared on Instagram.

Announcing the development, Amusan expressed grief over the loss, describing it as a painful blow to the industry.

“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace,” he wrote. “May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen.”

Reports indicated that Janmole died in a ghastly auto crash, although further details surrounding the accident were not immediately available at the time of filing this report.

It was gathered that the late actor had previously survived a fire incident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway before the fatal crash.

Janmole was widely known for his contributions to the Yoruba movie industry, where he earned admiration for his talent, humour and dedication.

Following the announcement, tributes have continued to pour in from actors, filmmakers and fans mourning his passing and celebrating his legacy in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
