Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has spoken on how men are built to chest things.
Speaking during a recent interview, he noted that, as men, we’re built to chest things. He explained that if he were punched, he could absorb it.

According to him, a man’s instinct is first to protect those around him, regardless of the situation.
“My job is to protect the people around me. If gbegbe happens here now, the chances are I’m going to step in front. It’s what needs to happen; there’s no excuse”.

Deyemi, however, made it clear that men shouldn’t be prevented from addressing their emotional struggles and finding a good support system.
Okanlanwon said he has built a reliable support system for difficult times. He disclosed that his wife isn’t the first person he calls, but his therapist or mentor, who he has on speed dial.

He admitted that when things get harder, he calls on his wife and asks for help.
“Let me just tell you the truth, when the thing is just too hard, there’s my wife. She’s not the first because she’s dealing with her own business and raising the family. But when it’s hitting me too hard, I’ll wake her in the middle of the night and tell her to help me”.
Recall that Deyemi tied the knot in 2013. He disclosed that he met his wife while studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos, and they have three sons.
This isn’t the first time the actor has spoken glowingly about his wife.
In a past interview, he credited her with encouraging him to pursue acting professionally after she noticed his passion for the craft.
Okanlawon was starstruck after spotting his favorite actor in the world, Denzel Washington, in Toronto, Canada. Sharing a video of him at the premiere of the screenplay adaption of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson at the Toronto International Film Festival TIFF, he stated that he couldn’t believe he was in the same room as the Hollywood actor.
Deyemi had also given a tour of the Hollywood Hills home he was staying in Los Angeles, as he set to make his Hollywood debut. The talented actor stated that it would have been so much cooler to pretend to be here wasn’t such a big deal, but only if people knew where he was coming from and how rough the road has been would they understand how big this is, him and his family.
