Nigerian celebrities have stunned the internet by hopping on socialite Caramel Plug’s cropped photo trend.
Kemi Filani reported a day ago that Caramel had called out Anita, accusing her of stealing her photo and editing her head out of it.
In response, Anita had tendered a heartfelt apology, blaming it on AI. Anita noted that she isn’t one to be cut up in such a mess and apologised to Caramel.



Following the viral banter, many have created a trend, using the socialite’s iconic photo for themselves.
The likes of Seyi Edun, Juliet Ibrahim, blogger Tosin Silverdam, Bukky Wright, Bakare Zainab, Yetunde Barnabas, Nkechi Blessing, and more have joined the trend.






Earlier this year, many on TikTok had hopped on the Holy Spirit trend, which involves someone reaching out to the Holy Spirit (who wears a bird form).
The likes of Funke Akindele, Mercy Johnson, Kiekie, Uche Ogbodo, Uche Elendu, Mercy Aigbe and others have joined the trend.
Knocking them, she expressed anger at seeing some captions like, ‘Holy Spirit no carry me because of my nyash, weight and others. She questioned whether they knew who they were talking about and admonished them to be careful and not reduce something sacred to a joke.
Similarly, in January, of celebrities hopped on the ‘2016’ trend by posting photos from 2016 that best capture what their lives were like a decade ago.
The “2026 is the new 2016” trend featured nostalgic items that had taken over people’s social media feeds, with throwback photos taking centre stage. From celebrities to friends, social media users have described 2026 as the new 2016 with their posts.
