Fresh controversy has erupted online after alleged chat screenshots between a young woman identified as Favour and popular content creator Odogwu Asaba surfaced on social media. The messages emerged just days after reports claimed that Favour died by suicide following allegations that she had been sexually assaulted by the content creator.
According to the screenshots circulating online, Odogwu Asaba appeared dismissive of Favour’s concerns during their exchange. Rather than addressing her allegations, he allegedly challenged her to involve the police, telling her to “carry police come,” while also cautioning her against doing so.
The leaked conversation further suggested that the content creator justified his response by claiming Favour had previously requested financial assistance from him, which he refused to provide.
The screenshots also showed him allegedly disregarding several voice notes sent by Favour, describing them as “nonsense” and stating that he had no intention of listening to them. He reportedly added that he would stop communicating with her until she “came to her senses.”
Since the alleged chats went viral, social media users have reacted strongly, with many expressing sympathy for Favour and arguing that the tone of the conversation reflected intimidation rather than empathy. Several commentators said the exchange painted a picture of someone who may have felt isolated and unheard during a difficult period.
Many Nigerians have also linked the incident to broader concerns about how sexual assault allegations are sometimes handled, noting that victims often face disbelief, intimidation, or pressure to remain silent before their claims receive serious attention.
The development comes after Odogwu Asaba was reportedly arrested over allegations of sexually assaulting Favour. In the aftermath of his arrest, additional videos and conversations circulated online, while a former staff member of the content creator also made allegations against him in a viral video.
The allegations remain the subject of public discussion, and investigations are expected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
