We honour Mrs. Rachael Folawe Alamu — not just for what she did, but for who she proved herself to be in a moment of fear and uncertainty.
When everything could have fallen apart, she stood firm. When children needed comfort, she became their strength. In the middle of chaos, she chose courage. In the face of danger, she became hope.
It is painful and deeply disappointing that anyone would take her image from such a vulnerable moment and turn it into a tool for mockery or division. That is not just wrong it is heartless. It says more about them than it ever will about her.
To us, she is not a victim. She is a hero. A woman who chose bravery when it mattered most. A woman who deserves honour, protection, and care not ridicule.
And we will not forget.
We also stand with the other teachers who showed quiet strength, and with the families of those children whose lives were shaken by this experience. Your pain matters. Your courage is seen.
In times like this, we must choose compassion over cruelty, unity over division, and humanity over everything else.
