The Super Eagles have retained their 26th position in the latest FIFA Ranking released on Monday.
Nigeria slipped one position to fourth in Africa after Egypt overtook them in the continental standings.
The Super Eagles have not played since their 2-1 defeat to former European champions Portugal in an international friendly in June.
Egypt climbed to third in Africa following an impressive campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Pharaohs reached the Round of 16 before suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat to eventual runners-up Argentina.
Morocco remain Africa’s highest-ranked nation (sixth position). The Atlas Lions, who reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup, moved up one spot globally, while holding firmly onto the continent’s top position.
Senegal continue to occupy second place in Africa despite dropping three places in the global rankings, while Algeria complete the continent’s top five after slipping one spot.
At the top of the world rankings, newly crowned FIFA World Cup champions Spain reclaimed the No. 1 position, with Argentina dropping to second. France, England and Brazil complete the world’s top five.
