The Nasarawa state Accountant General, Musa Ahmed Mohammed, has formally declared his intention to run for the governorship seat.
Speaking during amega rally organized in his honour on Monday in Lafia, Mohammed said his entrance into race was as a result of several months of pressure from elders, stakeholders and the masses of the state who see him as the right person to consolidate on the successes of his boss, Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The event which was held at the Lafia East Primary School attracted his supporters from across the state.
He said working closely with the incumbent he has learned a lot from the governor’s wisdom and vision which has placed Nasarawa as the fastest developing state in the country.
“I have learned from his resourcefulness. I have learned from his leadership skills. And I want to assure you that I will not disappoint you,” he promised.
Mohammed who was two-times speaker of the state House of Assembly, noted that because of the clarion call and pressure, he decided to sacrifice his position as the accountant general for the higher calling.
He commended Sule for finding him worthy to have been appointed as the accountant general, a position he said gave him the opportunity of learning the act of governance.
He described Sule as one of the best governors in the country whose transformative strides have become a reference point to his peers in other states.
