2027: ‘We Are Calm In ADC, They Are Panicking With 34 Govs’ – Abdullahi Mocks APC

Bolaji Abdullahi

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of targeting his party despite its overwhelming control of the political landscape.

Abdullahi made the allegation on Tuesday while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he insisted that the ADC remains calm and focused in the face of what he described as sustained pressure.

According to Abdullahi, the APC’s actions suggest unease, even with its dominance across key political institutions.

“We in the ADC are calm because we know what we are doing, but they, the APC, are the ones; after having about 34 governors in their camp and almost all the National Assembly, they are still panicking. They are still sponsoring court cases against the ADC,” he said.

He argued that the ruling party’s alleged moves against the ADC contradict its strong political footing nationwide.

The ADC spokesman further alleged that the APC frequently brings up his party in public discussions while simultaneously attempting to weaken it from within.

“They can’t have a conversation without talking about the ADC. They say ADC is comatose, it is this or that, instigating our members against us,” he stated.

Abdullahi also questioned the financial capacity behind what he described as legal actions targeting the party.

“Those who can barely afford to feed are now hiring a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and we say that it just doesn’t add up,” he added.

Dismissing concerns about the viability of the party, Abdullahi maintained that the ADC remains a credible and safe platform for political participation.

“It’s not legally and politically dangerous for anyone to run on the platform of the ADC,” he stated.

Despite the allegations, Abdullahi reiterated that the ADC would remain focused on its political agenda, expressing confidence in its structure and readiness ahead of future elections.

Meanwhile, former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has boasted that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is certain.

Ganduje made the remark at the House of Representatives chamber of the National Assembly, where he witnessed the defection of eight lawmakers.

The eight Kano State lawmakers officially announced their defection from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He also assured that the incumbent governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf and all the members of the national and state assemblies would be re-elected.

He said, “So you can see today, as far as we are concerned, is the day of liberation. 2027 is assured for President Bola Tinubu, and also our Executive Governor, Abba Yusuf and all our members of National Assembly and State Assembly.

“So it’s something that we are really so happy today, and we thank them for that, and we thank Mr President for providing an enabling environment for other political parties to see that APC has a climate of accommodating other members of other political parties.

“And we assure them of full integration in our party. Of course, that is why we are talking of integration. That is, we are now one. We are now a compound, not a mixture.”
