Senator Jarigbe, Wife, others attend Night of Tributes in honour of late Senator Mpigi in Abuja

It was an emotional evening marked by sorrow, reflection, and heartfelt tributes as the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, alongside his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Offiong Jarigbe, joined family members, friends, and associates at a Night of Tributes held in honour of late Senator Mpigi Barrinada in Abuja.

The solemn event, which took place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, brought together top government officials, lawmakers, and dignitaries from across the country to celebrate the life and legacy of the departed statesman.

In his tribute, Senator Jarigbe described the late Senator Mpigi as a pillar of encouragement and unwavering support to him and his family. He noted that their relationship transcended politics, evolving into a deep personal bond.

“We grew from friends into brothers, and at this moment, words fail me,” he said. “I thank God for his life and urge the family to find solace in the fact that Barry lived a fulfilled and impactful life.”

Also speaking at the event, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, paid glowing tribute to the deceased, describing him as a principled and courageous leader whose life was defined by service, strong convictions, and dedication to the public good.

Similarly, the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, remembered the late Senator as a man of integrity whose words matched his actions. He highlighted Mpigi’s significant contributions to national development and his enduring legacy in public service.

The event drew an array of prominent personalities, including members of the National Assembly and other government officials, all of whom portrayed the late Senator as a bridge-builder, a voice for peace, and a steadfast advocate for justice.

The Night of Tributes served not only as a moment of mourning but also as a celebration of a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
