WILLIAMSBURG: Extensive preparations are underway ahead of the upcoming Hachnasas Sefer Torah led by the Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg on Lag BaOmer, as the NYPD, the Mayor’s Office, the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, community leader Rabbi Abe Friedman, Williamsburg Shomrim, YF Productions, and other stakeholders convened for a meeting to coordinate a comprehensive security plan for the large-scale event.
