Amaechi Shouldn’t Be Struggling to Be President, He Should Help Retrieve Rivers From Wike– Ezeji

Policy analyst Dr. Joachim Ezeji has advised former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi to focus more on politics in Rivers State instead of pursuing presidential ambitions.

During an interview on Signature TV, Ezeji said Amaechi should concentrate on helping political leaders in Rivers State challenge the growing influence of Nyesom Wike.

According to Ezeji, many major political figures in the state have stepped away from local political battles, leaving Wike with greater control over the political structure in Rivers State.

He argued that Amaechi, as a former governor and influential politician, should help rebuild opposition strength in the state and support candidates who can compete for power locally. Ezeji said focusing only on national politics while ignoring developments in Rivers could allow one politician to dominate the state for too long.

The analyst warned that if political power continues to remain in the hands of a few individuals, democratic values in the state could gradually weaken. He added that stronger political competition is necessary to protect democracy and give citizens more choices in leadership.
