Omoyele Sowore has raised concerns over the worsening insecurity in Nigeria, warning that armed bandits may extend their operations toward the southern part of the country, including the Southwest region up to Lagos State.…....
Sowore made the remarks during an interview on Sahara TV, where he analyzed the growing pattern of violent attacks across different regions. He argued that the activities of armed groups appear to be expanding in scope and direction, calling for urgent national attention and a coordinated security response to prevent further deterioration of safety across the country.
He said the situation should not be treated with levity, stressing that the government must act decisively to stop the spread of insecurity. “They’ll go towards the Atlantic; their goal is to take on Southwest up until Lagos,” he warned, noting that failure to address the issue early could expose more states to attacks and instability. He urged security agencies to rethink their strategies and prioritize intelligence-driven operations to contain the threat before it escalates further.
