Primate Elijah Ayodele cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to depend primarily on the backing of northern governors in the leading up to the 2027 general election, according to a May 15, 2026 report by the Nigerian Tribune.…....
There may be more to the President’s current political connections than meets the eye, according to Osho Oluwatosin, the media aide of the cleric. Ayodele claims that other governors from the north are plotting to run for political office, which would complicate Tinubu’s efforts to get a second term in power.
He continued by saying that the president’s plans to run for reelection could be in jeopardy if the ruling party were suddenly divided by hidden ambitions and shifting political interests. Therefore, Ayodele implored Tinubu and his political crew to closely monitor party activities and interactions among political associates.
As the nation gets ready for the 2027 elections, the spiritual leader issued a warning, saying that the government could collapse miserably if it didn’t keep a close eye on the evolving political situation.
Ayodele also offered his predictions for the next party primaries of various political factions. He asserts that important politicians, especially those currently regarded highly inside the ruling All Progressives Congress, are likely to suffer significant defeats in the approaching elections.
Many will cry, and powerful people in every political party, including the APC, will have to answer for their actions. “Not everyone who is following Tinubu and cheering for your mandate will make it through it,” Ayodele said.
Concurrent with his speech, coalition building, strategic realignments, and political talks are gaining momentum leading up to the 2027 elections. A number of national political figures and interest groups have continued to negotiate and try to form coalitions, and their attempts may impact the outcome of future elections.
A number of political observers have taken issue with the cleric’s remarks, questioning the degree of loyalty inside the APC and other groups. There will be a lot of political jockeying for position in the forthcoming primaries in Nigeria, which, according to experts, could significantly change the country’s political scene before the next general election.
