BREAKING: Tanko Reacts As Obi Visits School Children In His Hometown, Says He’s Kind Of Leader Nigeria Needs

A former spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, has praised the recent visit of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, to a primary school in his hometown of Agulu, describing it as the kind of leadership Nigeria needs.…....

Obi had visited Practising Primary School in Agulu, a school established in 1922, which reportedly suffered extensive damage after a fire incident last year destroyed part of its historic structure.

According to Obi, he had earlier promised to support the rebuilding of the school and contribute towards creating a more conducive learning environment for the pupils.

During the visit, the former presidential candidate announced a donation of N10 million as an initial contribution toward the reconstruction project.

“Education is a crucial investment for any community, and restoring schools is essential for renewing hope and ensuring a brighter future,” Obi stated.

He also interacted with the pupils and encouraged them to remain committed to their studies, stressing that discipline, dedication and hard work would shape their future.

Reacting to the development, Tanko commended Obi’s intervention and said the gesture reflected people-centred leadership.

“This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs — leadership that invests in education, hope and the future of our children,” Tanko said.

He added that rebuilding schools and supporting education were important steps toward national development and expressed optimism about the country’s future.

Tanko further prayed for strength for Obi, stating that the former governor has consistently prioritised the welfare of the people.

Obi’s visit and donation have since attracted reactions online, with supporters highlighting the importance of educational investments and community development initiatives.
