According to a report by Primate Elijah Ayodele on 19 May 2026 through a video posted on his official Facebook page, the cleric issued a political warning directed at President Bola Tinubu concerning trust, loyalty, and internal political support ahead of future elections in Nigeria.…....

Speaking in the video, Primate Ayodele cautioned that political leaders must be careful in choosing those they rely on during election periods, stressing that not all supporters remain loyal when political interests are at stake.

“Tinubu, the people you believe will work for you in this election may betray you,” Primate Ayodele said in the video shared on his official Facebook page.

The cleric explained that political environments are often unpredictable, especially during election seasons, when alliances, loyalty, and personal interests can shift rapidly. According to him, leaders must not assume that all individuals within their political structure will remain committed under pressure.

He further stated that betrayal within political circles is not uncommon, adding that many politicians often prioritize personal ambition over collective goals when critical decisions are being made. He warned that such behaviour could affect the strength of any political campaign.

Primate Ayodele advised political leaders to be more strategic in identifying reliable allies and strengthening internal structures to avoid surprises during elections. He noted that trust must be carefully managed in politics, especially when stakes are high.

According to him, effective leadership requires constant evaluation of those within a political team to ensure alignment with broader goals and objectives. He added that failure to properly manage internal relationships could lead to unexpected setbacks.

The cleric also emphasized the importance of vigilance, urging politicians to remain alert and proactive in managing their campaigns. He stated that overconfidence in political loyalty could result in disappointment at critical moments.
