If El Rufai Is A Thief And A Christian Killer As You Claim, Please Go Ahead And Charge Him—Son

Hon. Bello El-Rufai, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has publicly challenged authorities and critics to formally prosecute his father in a court of law if they possess credible evidence supporting the allegations frequently made against him.…....

Bello El-Rufai made the remarks during an interview with Viable TV, where he reacted strongly to recurring public accusations directed at the former governor. He expressed concern over what he described as persistent labeling and character attacks, insisting that such claims should not circulate without legal substantiation.

According to him, it is unjust for individuals to repeatedly accuse his father of serious offences, including corruption and involvement in violence, without presenting evidence before a competent judicial authority. He maintained that due process remains the only legitimate pathway for resolving such allegations in a democratic society.

In his statement during the interview, he said: “I stand here as a member of the House of Representatives and as a public servant. I will not look at the public and lie about things I do not believe in. That is not in my nature. This is wrong. If Malam is a thief, as you claim, if Malam is a Christian killer, as you claim, please go ahead and charge him.”

El-Rufai further argued that the continuous circulation of unproven allegations sends a troubling message, particularly to young Nigerians who are closely observing the country’s political environment. He warned that allowing accusations to spread without accountability risks undermining trust in public discourse and the rule of law.

He emphasized that his position as a young legislator places a responsibility on him to encourage fairness, evidence-based judgment, and respect for institutional processes. According to him, Nigerians especially the youth must be guided by facts rather than emotions or politically motivated narratives.

The lawmaker also noted that he is still under 40 and often engages with young Nigerians, urging them to critically evaluate information before accepting it as truth. He stressed that democracy must be anchored on justice, transparency, and lawful procedures rather than unverified claims.
