Dele Oshinowo has taken to social media to celebrate his recognition as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kosofe Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.
This is just as the incumbent, Kafilat Ogbara, who vied to return to the national assembly urged her supported to keep calm, noting that her fate would be determined by the national secreatriat of the party.
TVC News Online reports that there has been controversy about the outcome of the APC primary in the constituency where both Ogbara and Oshinowo laid claim to victory just as another aspirant, Remi Odunsi, claimed that no election held.
Via his X handle on Monday, Oshinowo said, “Kosofe! What we witnessed was democracy in its truest form: the right to vote and be voted for. The voices of the people rang loud and clear, and once again, the strength of our great party was beautifully demonstrated. Today, as the official flag bearer of our great party for the upcoming election to represent Kosofe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, I extend my deepest appreciation and respect to my fellow aspirants: Hon. Kafilat Ogbara @KafilatOgbara, Hon. Oluremi Odunsi @odunsi_remi, Pastor Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke and Mrs Aina Olayinka.
“You all campaigned with passion, dignity and commitment to our party. Together, we strengthened, promoted the APC and deepened the spirit of participation within our constituency. Well done to every one of us.”
Calling for support, Osinowo said, ahead laid bigger assignment, “I sincerely implore all supporters, stakeholders and party faithful to come together in unity and solidarity. Banter aside, we have an election to win. We remain one family under the banner of our great party, the APC. What binds us together is far greater than anything that can divide us.”
However, Ogbara, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, shared a message to her supporters on Monday, calling for calm.
She said, “E lo fokanbale! To the people of Kosofe, the official party process is still ongoing, I urge our community to wait patiently for the official list from our party’s National Secretariat. We will continue our journey together grounded in the facts and the process.”
