Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has won the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot for the 2025/2026 season after finishing as the league’s highest scorer ahead of fellow Nigerian Victor Osimhen.
Onuachu enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring 22 league goals to emerge as the top scorer in the division.
The Nigerian forward commanded the scoring charts for most of the season and notably scored in eight consecutive league matches following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
His consistency during the closing stages of the season helped him maintain his lead in the race for the award.
The Nigeria Football Federation congratulated the forward on Monday, praising his performances throughout the campaign.
The NFF said: “Paul Onuachu was a force to reckon with, scoring 22 goals in the Süper Lig this season.”
İstanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov finished behind Onuachu with around 21 goals, while Fenerbahçe midfielder Anderson Talisca ended the season with 19 goals.
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, one of the league’s biggest signings last season, finished with 15 league goals despite several influential performances during the campaign.
His teammate Mauro Icardi also finished among the leading scorers with 14 goals for the Turkish champions.
Although the race for the Golden Boot remained competitive for most of the season, Onuachu eventually pulled clear to secure the award and finish as the league’s most prolific striker.
