Residents of a community in Lagos State have reportedly apprehended and handed over two women suspected of kidnapping a 12-year-old schoolboy, after days of search for the missing child. click read original at the top to watch the video involved.
According to multiple local accounts, the boy was allegedly abducted while returning home from school. His disappearance sparked concern in the community, leading residents and family members to begin an extensive search that lasted several days without success.
The situation reportedly took a dramatic turn when a hunter and some community members claimed they sighted the suspects in a bush area alongside a young boy. This information was said to have led residents to trace the suspects’ residence, where the two women were found.
Angry residents allegedly confronted the suspects at their home, where they were beaten before being handed over to the authorities. Reports also claim that during the confrontation, the suspects admitted involvement in the kidnapping and alleged that the boy had been sold to an unidentified man, commonly referred to as an “Alhaji,” who was said to have taken the child to Abuja for about ₦7 million.
The suspects were further quoted as saying they did not know the exact location of the buyer in Abuja, claiming they were only contacted to deliver a person in exchange for money.
The whereabouts of the kidnapped boy remain unknown at the time of this report.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that the suspects are in custody and are assisting with investigations. Authorities have urged members of the public to remain calm and allow due process of law, while efforts continue to locate the missing child and possibly rescue him safely.
This incident has sparked renewed concern over rising cases of child kidnapping in parts of Lagos and the need for stronger security and community vigilance.
