According to the parent, the dormitory is divided into upper and lower sections, and panic erupted moments after the fire broke out.
Speaking to the media outside the school gate, the woman claimed that although the matron opened the door after noticing the blaze, she allegedly did not direct or guide the students to quickly evacuate the building.
The confusion reportedly forced many students, especially those in the upper dormitory, to make desperate decisions in a bid to survive. Some girls allegedly jumped from the upper floor to escape the flames and smoke, sustaining serious injuries in the process.
The parent claimed that several students broke their legs after leaping from the building as fear spread rapidly through the dormitory. Others screamed for help as they tried to find a safe way out.
