We Were Told That FCT Recorded 36,103 Votes For Tinubu, I Don’t Know Where That Figure Came From—Ojo

Political analyst Jide Ojo has questioned the credibility of some of the figures announced during the APC presidential primaries that produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s candidate.…....

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Ojo said several parts of the election results raised concerns and left many unanswered questions. He specifically mentioned the figures announced for the Federal Capital Territory, where officials reportedly declared that Tinubu received 36,103 votes.

According to him, the number appeared difficult to explain because many party members allegedly did not even know where the voting centres were located. He also questioned how some states recorded turnout figures above 90 percent despite the reported confusion surrounding the exercise.

Ojo further pointed to the speed at which results were announced in states such as Rivers State. He argued that considering the large size of the state and the riverine nature of some local government areas, it was surprising that final figures were compiled and announced so quickly.

The analyst compared the process to elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, noting that official elections usually involve several stages of result collation before final announcements are made.

He maintained that the process and figures announced during the primaries deserved closer scrutiny.

In her words, “We were told that FCT recorded 36,103 votes for Mr President. I don’t know where that figure came from.”
