Abuja, Nigeria — Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying Nigerians are already witnessing the transformation the President promised at the beginning of his administration.
Akpabio made the remark during the signing of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Act 2026 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Addressing the President, the Senate President recalled Tinubu’s pledge to bring significant changes to the country and noted that the administration’s reforms are beginning to yield visible results.
“Mr President, you promised that under your tenure, when you are through with Nigeria, it will not be the same again. We are seeing it,” Akpabio said.
The Senate President praised Tinubu’s efforts in implementing reforms aimed at strengthening governance, modernising public institutions, and improving service delivery across the country. He particularly highlighted the administration’s commitment to digital transformation through the enhancement of Nigeria’s identity management system.
The newly signed NIMC Act 2026 is expected to strengthen the country’s national identity framework, improve data management, enhance security, and support the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
Akpabio’s comments add to a series of endorsements from key government officials who have expressed confidence in the administration’s policies and long-term development agenda.
