“Are we saying these children are just gone?” – Mary Njoku fumes over Oyo abduction

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has expressed outrage and heartbreak over the abduction of school children in Oyo State, questioning what is being done to secure their release.

Taking to her Instagram story, the actress said she woke up angry, unsettled, and deeply concerned about the fate of the kidnapped children.

According to her, she is in disbelief over how innocent children could disappear without urgent action being taken to bring them home.

“Are we really saying that these kidnapped children are just gone? Are we saying that nothing more can be done? That innocent children and toddlers can vanish, and somehow the rest of us are expected to carry on as though nothing happened?” she questioned.

The Iroko TV boss also questioned whether Nigerians have become desensitised to the growing cases of kidnappings, bandit attacks, and insecurity across the country.

Mary Njoku lamented that reports of abductions and violent attacks have become so frequent that many people now react with resignation rather than urgency.

“Have we become so numb to the endless reports of bandits, kidnappings, and insecurity in Nigeria that they barely move us anymore? Is this what we’ve accepted as normal?” she added.

Her comments have since resonated with many Nigerians online, with several social media users agreeing that more must be done to rescue the Oyo school victims and protect vulnerable citizens from criminal attacks.

Mary Njoku joins other celebrities who have condemned the abduction of 46 children in Oyo State, a tragedy that has sparked nationwide outrage.
