Egbin Power Plc has reinforced its performance-driven culture by rewarding outstanding employees at its 2026 Employee Recognition Awards (ERA), with top staff members receiving prizes, including a brand-new sport utility vehicle.
The event, held at the company’s plant in Ikorodu, Lagos, brought together management and employees in a ceremony aimed at celebrating exceptional contributions across departments and boosting workplace excellence.
At the highlight of the ceremony, Amos Oshanugo of the Instrumentation and Control Department emerged as the overall Top Performer, clinching the grand prize of a Chery Tiggo 2 Pro SUV. Chidima Celestine from the Operations Department and Endurance Otaru of the Business Operations Department were named first and second runners-up, respectively, earning cash rewards.
The awards cut across key operational units, including Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Finance, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control, Human Resources, Procurement, Capital Projects Delivery, IT and Business Innovation, as well as Support Services.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Power, Mokhtar Bounour, said the initiative underscores the company’s commitment to recognising excellence and motivating its workforce to sustain high performance.
He said, “At Egbin Power, we believe excellence is not accidental but built through hard work, teamwork and the courage to exceed expectations. By celebrating results, we inspire our people to raise the bar, strengthen accountability and deepen our shared commitment to powering Nigeria.”
Bounour added that the company would continue to prioritise employee growth and reward systems as part of its broader strategy to maintain operational efficiency and reliability in Nigeria’s power sector.
Reacting to his emergence as the top performer, Oshanugo expressed gratitude to the management and his colleagues, describing the recognition as a collective achievement.
“This milestone belongs to all of us because teamwork remains the key to our success at Egbin Power,” he said.
Celestine noted that the recognition would spur her to sustain excellence and contribute more to the company’s goals, while Otaru said the award reflected not just individual effort but the support and collaboration within her team.
Other employees across departments were also honoured for their contributions in the 2025 performance year.
The annual ERA initiative is part of Egbin Power’s people-focused strategy designed to reward dedication, promote innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation.
