Everton make move for West Ham captain Bowen

Everton have made a preliminary move to sign West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

The Toffees are understood to have made initial contact over the 29-year-old winger, who is expected to leave the London club in a bid to remain in the Premier League.

According to Football Insider, Everton have formally registered their interest in the England international as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Bowen is said to be open to returning immediately to top-flight football but is expected to assess all offers before making a final decision on his future.

Everton manager David Moyes is believed to be keen on adding more attacking quality to his squad after his side struggled for goals last season.

Beto finished as the club’s top scorer in the league with nine goals, while no Everton player reached double figures in the Premier League campaign.

Bowen, despite West Ham’s difficult season, still produced nine goals and 11 assists, underlining his value in the final third.

His 20-goal contribution, however, was not enough to earn him a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Everton are also monitoring Fulham winger Harry Wilson, who is available as a free agent, but face competition from Leeds United and Aston Villa for his signature.

The Merseyside club are now expected to step up their transfer activity as Moyes looks to reshape his squad before the start of the new Premier League season.
