A heartbroken husband has paid an emotional tribute to his wife, who was tragically discovered d£ad after going missing at a seaside village.

Police and emergency services launched an extensive search for mother-of-two Leah Bunce after she disappeared on the island of Anglesey, North Wales.

The search operation included colleagues of her husband, coastguard rescue officer Stephen Jones, 36, who described himself as devastated by her d£ath.

An appeal to locate Leah was issued after she was last spotted wearing a brown cotton top with flowers and brown trousers in the village of Penmon.

However, hours later the search ended in tragedy when authorities announced that Leah’s body had been found.

A grieving Stephen has now expressed his gratitude to those who have shown support, while paying an emotional tribute to his wife.

He said he had been overwhelmed by the backing shown to him and his family throughout the ordeal.

He acknowledged that while it remained early days, he recognised there would be many challenges and obstacles to overcome, but expressed confidence that he would not face them alone.

He stated that for the time being, he needed time and space to focus on his family and to ensure their daughters received all the love, care and support required.

He concluded by thanking everyone for their kindness, support and understanding.

North Wales Police said that following an overnight search for a missing woman in the Penmon area of Anglesey, a body had been found.

While formal identification had not yet taken place, the woman’s family had been informed and was receiving support from specially trained officers.

The d£ath was being treated as non-suspicious, and the coroner had been notified. Police extended their thoughts to the woman’s loved ones during the difficult time.

An inquest is yet to open.
