Nollywood actor Kunle Remi is getting mercilessly dragged on Twitter over his vlog of Alex Ekubo’s funeral.
Kemi Filani reported on Thursday, June 18th, that the actor was finally laid to rest amidst tears. On his Instagram page, the actor shared a comic vlog from his colleague’s funeral. The video captured the moment he arrived in Abia State for the funeral; the moment Alex’s casket arrived in his hometown; the various visits to his ancestral home and father’s house to pay his last respects; the Wake-keep; the burial; and the reception.

Just a day ago, media personality Noble Igwe expressed disdain at how people celebrated Alex Ekubo. He said there was no need to give Freeze many reasons to talk, as he pointed out how many made it seem like Alex’s death was a celebration of life.
Last week, while addressing his choice of outfit to Alex Ekubo’s Service of Songs, Daddy Freeze narrated his experience at the event. He condemned the pastor’s preaching, questioning why a sermon was needed at such a gathering.
He also slammed Mercy Chinwo, claiming she turned the event into a concert. According to him, it was at this point that he got up and went home. The former OAP questioned whether people understand what a funeral is.
Responding to his statement, BBNaija Cross criticised Freeze, telling him to keep his mouth shut. He admonished the media personality to stay mute if he didn’t know anything about Jesus Christ. He also admonished Freeze to leave mén and women of God alone.
Hitting back at him in a video captured online, Freeze challenged him to find pastors who can heal one verified cripple out of 50. Freeze promised to provide N100 million within 72 hours – N50 million from himself and another N50 million from his supporters.
Mofe Duncan, in a lengthy post, noted how the night wasn’t about him or anyone else but about Alex. He enlightened Freeze that the event wasn’t a funeral but a night of tributes and a service of songs. Duncan noted that Alex’s family made it clear that Alex loved to worship and that a worship concert was what he would have wanted.
