Emotional scenes from the funeral of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo have continued to dominate social media, leaving many fans heartbroken.
The actor, who died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after reportedly battling metastatic kidney cancer, was laid to rest on June 18 in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State.
His burial followed a series of farewell events, including a service of songs held on June 10 and a wake-keep on June 17, attended by family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers.
Videos circulating online captured touching moments from the ceremony. In one clip, his wife, Anwuli, was seen holding a framed photograph of the late actor as female family members dressed in white accompanied her during the procession.
Other footage showed pallbearers dressed in white carrying his casket along a beautifully decorated pathway, while mourners watched in silence.
A separate video highlighted a solemn moment during the service, as a woman read from the scriptures before a pastor delivered a message in honour of the deceased actor.
Friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry were also present, with many visibly emotional as they paid their final respects. Among those spotted at the ceremony were IK Ogbonna, Ini Edo, Obi Cubana, Omoni Oboli and Deyemi Okanlawon.
The burial ceremony sparked an outpouring of reactions online, with many fans expressing sadness over the loss and sharing emotional tributes to the actor.
