ZAMFARA, NIGERIA — Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected logistics supplier to terrorist groups and recovered a large cache of military-grade equipment during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Sokoto–Gusau Road in Zamfara State.
According to military sources, the suspect was intercepted while transporting items believed to be destined for terrorist elements operating within the North-West region. The operation was part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt the supply networks that sustain terrorist and bandit activities across the region.
Items recovered from the suspect included approximately 150 pairs of combat boots, a military beret, a military belt, three jackknives, three electric shock devices, and a tear gas canister. Security operatives also seized electronic devices, including two Android mobile phones, an iPad, and a digital wristwatch, which are expected to aid ongoing investigations.
Military authorities stated that the suspect has been taken into custody for further interrogation, while the recovered items have been secured for profiling and forensic examination. Investigators are working to determine the extent of the suspect’s involvement and identify other members of the alleged supply network.
