Trump says he’s an ‘innocent man who has been horribly treated’ in Truth Social spree lashing out at enemies

Donald Trump has launched another series of attacks in a late night Truth Social spree, posting on long-standing grievances ranging from the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago to Hunter Biden’s laptop.

The president was most animated on the subject of his New York trial in spring 2024, at which he was found guilty by a jury on all 34 counts he faced relating to the falsification of business records to conceal a payoff made to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels to buy her silence about a past sexual encounter.

Trump claimed that his former personal attorney Michael Cohen has “come out and unequivocally stated” that New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg “pressured and coerced him to testify against your favorite President, ME, when they made him the key player in their Political Witch Hunts.”

He was alluding to comments Cohen made in a podcast interview with Sirius XM host Michael Smerconish Monday.

The president called for the slate to be wiped clean, suggested James and Bragg be fired and complained: “I am an innocent man who has been horribly treated. Hopefully the Courts will do what everyone knows should be done.”

In a separate post, he accused Bragg of creating “misdemeanors that didn’t exist, and turned them into felonies that never existed” and fumed: “They have a ‘charge’ for Donald Trump that nobody has ever been charged with in the History of Manhattan.” He did not explain which charges he believed had been invented solely for his persecution.

Trump pasted links to six articles from the right-leaning Washington outlet Just the News on pet topics.

The stories he picked out concerned alleged Democratic corruption, his latest cognitive test triumph, the raid on his home by federal investigators in 2022 seeking to recover classified documents, Joe Biden’s troubled son Hunter, and Fani Willis, the District Attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, who attempted to charge him with election meddling after his 2020 defeat to Biden.

The president was soon back to complaining about mainstream press coverage, however, claiming that even if Iran offered an unconditional surrender in the current war, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN “and all other members of the Fake News Media” would write that “Iran had a Masterful and Brilliant Victory over The United States of America.”

“The Dumacrats and Media have totally lost their way,” he added, bypassing the fact that he has been making the same accusations against the same targets for more than a decade. “They have gone absolutely CRAZY!!!”

The president claimed to have dissuaded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from launching “a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon” during a phone call Monday, which was otherwise reported to have been heated and contentious.

He also gloried in his recent record of “taking out” his enemies like Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy, Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and late-night host Stephen Colbert.

Trump went on to offer a slew of endorsements for conservative candidates running for office in Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota, reserving particular praise for Steve Hilton, hoping to become California’s next governor, whom he called “a truly fine man, one who has watched as this once great State has gone to Hell.”
