“You’re forever in our hearts” – Omoni Oboli remembers late Alex Ekubo with touching post

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli is remembering her late colleague and friend, Alex Ekubo.

Taking to her Instagram page to share a photo of herself and the late actor, she said the memory of the righteous is blessed. Omoni said Alex is forever in their hearts and told him to rest well.

“The memory of the righteous is blessed.
Forever in our hearts, bestie.
Rest in peace, Alex. You came, you saw, you conquered. Continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord. Rest, dearest”.

After Alex’s burial, Omoni honoured him by donating the proceeds of her latest movie to his family. She noted how Alex came, saw, and conquered, saying he will forever be in her heart, and affirmed her love for him.

Last week, veteran Pete Edochie paid a glowing tribute to Alex, recounting their first meeting. Edochie said the late actor had big plans for him for his 80th birthday celebration next year, but, unfortunately, he is gone.

Mourning Alex, Ufuoma McDermott had revealed her one regret as she recounted how she met the late actor. Ufuoma described Alex as a beautiful soul, saying she beats herself for weeks, questioning why she didn’t send him that message a day earlier.

Rita Dominic expressed how heartbroken she was to see a young person in their prime taken from them too soon. She said she struggles to comprehend it and truly refuses to accept it. Dominic told the deceased to rest in peace and prayed that he would find comfort among the Angels.

Chiwetalu Agu wrote a heartfelt tribute to him, noting how he poured so much passion, sacrifice and heart into his craft. He noted how Alex was young, talented and full of promise, and it hurt to see his light go out so soon. Telling him to rest in peace, Chiwetalu said the stage and screen haven’t just lost an actor but a storyteller who still has many roles left to bring to life.
