A 20-year-old woman, identified as Favour Agbro from Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has reportedly died by $u!c!d3 after allegedly being raped by a 44-year-old content creator in Asaba.
According to accounts shared by activists, Favour contacted the content creator after he advertised training on how to monetize TikTok and Facebook pages. She reportedly travelled to Asaba for the training after he promised to help her build a career as a content creator.
Activists alleged that upon her arrival, the suspect lured her to a hotel room, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her despite her informing him that she was a virgin and had no interest in any romantic relationship. They further claimed she sustained injuries during the alleged assault before returning to Warri, where she reportedly told her family and twin sister what had happened.
According to the activists, Favour later died by $u!c!d3 fter allegedly struggling to get justice and support following the incident.
Human rights activists Harrison Gwamnishu and Israel Joe disclosed that the suspect has been arrested by the police and is currently in custody, while investigations into the allegations are ongoing.
Authorities have not announced any formal charges or reached any conclusions regarding the allegations, and the case remains under investigation.
