Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called on politicians across the country to play according to the rules as Nigeria approaches another round of elections, stressing that no individual is greater than the nation.
The Governor made the call while addressing journalists after joining Muslim faithful at the Yola Eid Ground, where worshippers defied the early morning rainfall to observe the two raka’at Eid-el-Kabir prayers.
Governor Fintiri said despite divergent political views and party affiliations, Nigerians must remain united in the interest of peace and national development.

He noted that politics should not be used as a tool to divide the country, emphasizing that Nigerians share a common destiny and must work collectively to preserve the unity of the nation.
Speaking on security challenges confronting parts of the country, the Governor acknowledged that insecurity remains a major concern but assured that security agencies are working round the clock to defeat the activities of bandits and insurgents.
He pledged the continued support of the Adamawa State Government towards strengthening security efforts through investments and collaboration with security agencies to ensure that citizens and residents live in peace.
Governor Fintiri also urged Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration as a period of reflection, sacrifice, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
