ADC Can Only Win 2027 If They Bring Atiku Or Tambuwal From The North — Momodu

In a recent interview on Channels TV, Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke on opposition strategy, zoning debates, and electoral calculations ahead of the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria.

During the interview, Momodu stated, “If ADC is serious about winning, they should find Atiku or Tambuwal from the North.” He made the remark while analyzing possible pathways for the opposition coalition to mount a strong challenge against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling APC.

Momodu explained that electoral success in Nigeria often depends on regional balance and the ability to consolidate large voting blocs, particularly in the North. According to him, figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal remain strategically important in opposition calculations due to their established national networks and political experience.

He argued that opposition parties must approach the 2027 election with a clear understanding of Nigeria’s voting dynamics rather than internal disagreements or fragmented ambitions. Momodu warned that failure to present a strong northern-backed candidate could weaken the opposition’s chances significantly.

He further emphasized that political strategy, not sentiment, will determine success in the next presidential election. According to him, the ADC and other opposition groups must prioritize unity, structure, and nationwide appeal if they intend to compete effectively against the ruling party.

Momodu concluded by urging opposition leaders to focus on realistic electoral planning, stressing that coalition building and regional strategy will play a decisive role in determining the outcome of the 2027 general election….See More
