“I Nearly Became Suicidal” — Shine Rosman Shares Painful Past

 

Shine Rosman has opened up about the emotional trauma she experienced after losing her father at the age of 16, revealing how the tragedy completely changed the course of her life and shaped her ambition.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the Nollywood actress shared that the death of her father was one of the darkest moments of her life

. According to her, the loss was so overwhelming that it pushed her into a deep emotional struggle, at a point where she even battled suicidal thoughts.

Rosman explained that while she was still dealing with grief, she also had to face harsh comments from people around her. 

She revealed that some individuals made painful predictions about her future, suggesting that she would end up engaging in prostitution or face an unplanned pregnancy due to the absence of her father.

The actress said those negative statements were difficult to hear, especially at a time when she was already vulnerable and trying to cope with emotional pain.

 However, instead of allowing the remarks to break her completely, she chose to use them as motivation to push forward in life.

Rosman noted that the financial difficulties that followed her father’s death also contributed to her determination to succeed.

 She explained that hardship forced her to develop resilience early in life and made her more focused on achieving her goals.

According to her, growing up without comfort and stability played a major role in shaping her mindset. She believes that if her upbringing had been easier, she might not have developed the same level of ambition or drive that she has today.

She further emphasized that grief is one of the most difficult experiences anyone can go through, describing it as something that can push people to their emotional limits. 

However, she maintained that overcoming such pain can also lead to personal strength and growth.

Rosman’s story has sparked conversations online, with many praising her honesty and courage in sharing such a personal experience. Her reflection highlights the struggles faced by young people dealing with loss, societal pressure, and financial hardship.

Today, the actress says she has transformed her painful past into a source of strength, using it as fuel to pursue her career in Nollywood and to build a better future for herself despite the challenges she once faced.
