“It is okay for married men to cheat, but it’s an abomination when a woman does it” – Comedian MC Lively calls out double standard

Nigerian comedian MC Lively has weighed in on the double standard society accepts for cheating.

In the wake of Frank Edoho’s ex-wife’s scandal with Chike, MC Lively noted how it is acceptable when a married man cheats repeatedly. Still, when a woman does it, it is considered an abomination.

The comedian made men realise that their ego will take them down, noting that women will have more power, wealth, and will in the future.

“It’s ok for married men to cheat repeatedly and brazenly, but once a woman does it…

ABOMINATION.

lol…ego will take you guys.

Well, in the future, many women will have more power, more wealth, and more will do the same things that make you men lose it.

Get ready”.

In another tweet, he pointed out the irony of how people are cursing Chike and calling for him to be cancelled, yet women in entertainment who have slept with people’s husbands aren’t getting cancelled.

“Like…bro.

I don’t get it.

They are swearing all around…We must cancel him…We must cancel him.

Have you cancelled all the women who were “entertainers” and slept with someone’s husband???

The hypocrisy is riveting”.

Refreshing your memory, last week, Frank had released a statement about his crashed marriage, thanking the public for their support and saying he has emotionally come to terms with it. He made it known that he is well, focused and at peace.

Following his statement, a leaked audio recording of his estranged wife and her rumoured boyfriend, Chike, is circulating online. In the audio, his wife was telling Chike about the issues she was facing in the marriage and her husband’s suspicion about them. She said their marriage was falling apart, and Frank was probing her about their relationship.

Speaking out, Sandra, in a series of Instagram posts, accused him of serial infidelity and emotional abuse. She alleged that he had an affair with BBNaija star, Tega Dominic, Mbong Amata, and other socialites. She claimed he frequently disappeared for days, misused her finances, and brought other women into their home.

In a leaked voice note, Frank Edoho narrated how he approached Chike to confront him about the affair, calling him a ‘stupīd boy,’ and said the singer was shaking like a leaf when he confronted him. Edoho said he told him that if his wife were still as important to him as she was when he married her, he would have shot Chike, and he would be confined to a wheélchair.

Reacting to it, Do2dtun said there was no justification for cheating for any man or woman. He stressed that we should stop accepting nonsense for the sake of winning arguments and call a spade a spade.

BBNaija Tuoyo, had pondered how he could conveniently sleep with married women. Describing it as pure wickedness, he stated that no matter how wild he is, sleeping with another man’s wife is off limits, and even money can’t change that.

BBNaija Tochi said this generation doesn’t have the same level of tolerance, patience, and endurance that our mothers and fáthers had, and are too woke. He suggested that marriages should come with a contract, and whoever breaks it should pay a penalty.

In another post, he said that when two adults choose to do something consensually, people should stop blaming the other person.

Ossai Success, called Chike and Sandra losers. According to him, Chike committed an abomination by sleeping with another man’s wife, and they are the ones who stand to lose the most. He said Frank can move on and remarry, but for Chike and Sandra, it becomes harder as most people think twice before marrying someone involved in such a situation.

Recall that after his first divorce, Edoho married Sandra Onyenucheya, and they remained together for over a decade, during which they welcomed two children.

During the heat of the crashed marriage, reports alleged that his second wife had cheated with a popular singer.
