Jonathan, Tinubu Are Formidable, Combination Of Obi And Kwankwaso Is Going To Be Formidable– Momodu

Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has said the race for the 2027 presidential election will be highly competitive, warning that no political camp should assume victory ahead of the polls.…....

Speaking during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television on Tuesday, Momodu discussed possible contenders and alignments that could shape the next presidential election.

According to him, the coming contest would involve major political figures with significant influence across the country.

Momodu described former President Goodluck Jonathan as a formidable political force, while also acknowledging the strength of incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He noted that Tinubu, as the sitting president, remains a strong contender due to the advantages and influence associated with incumbency.

“The game ahead is going to be a game of the biggest boys,” Momodu said.

He further stated that a possible political combination involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would also represent a formidable force in the race.

He said, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu is formidable. Jonathan is formidable. The combination of Peter Obi and Musa Kwakwanso is going to be formidable.”

The ADC chieftain argued that the calibre of personalities being mentioned ahead of the election means no candidate should be written off.

His remarks come amid growing political consultations, coalition talks, and speculations over alignments ahead of the ADC primaries and the wider 2027 presidential contest.

Momodu’s comments have already generated reactions among supporters of different political blocs, with many interpreting them as a reflection of the intense competition expected in the build-up to the election.

The 2027 race is expected to feature strategic alliances, party realignments, and negotiations as political actors position themselves for what analysts predict could be one of Nigeria’s most closely watched presidential contests.
