The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of twin princes with his wife, Mariam Ajibola, for the Royal House of Oduduwa.
The monarch made the announcement in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, expressing gratitude to God for the blessing.
Ooni said he was overjoyed at the arrival of the twins and thanked God that both the mother and the newborns are in good health.
“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again!
“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today.
“We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health,” he wrote.
The development comes after the monarch’s earlier marital transitions following the end of his marriage to Olori Naomi, after which he took multiple wives within months in 2022.
The queens include Mariam Anako (September 6, 2022), Elizabeth Akinmuda, Tobiloba Philips (October 9, 2022), Ashley Adegoke (October 14, 2022), Ronke Ademiluyi (October 20, 2022), and Temitope Adesegun (October 24, 2022).
While marking his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, the Ooni previously explained his marriages, saying the decisions were influenced by cultural expectations tied to the traditions of Ile-Ife.
