The Abia State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Nzubechi Chinagorom, 24, and Chinonso Chibundu, 25, over an alleged attempt to steal a two-week-old baby girl in Olokoro community, Umuahia South Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the incident occurred on May 25, 2026, when the suspects allegedly targeted the residence of a nursing mother identified as Amarachi Chinyereugo.
Police sources revealed that one of the suspects reportedly entered the woman’s home and attempted to forcefully take away the newborn baby while the second suspect allegedly waited outside to monitor activities around the area.
