A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has said the party in the state is no longer divided into factions following recent political developments.…....
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Ewor explained that he previously led a faction of the PDP that supported Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. However, he said the situation changed after Fubara allegedly moved to the APC on December 10.
According to Ewor, members of his group who remained in the PDP decided to merge with the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. He stated that the move ended the division within the party in Rivers State.
Ewor also referred to the recent Supreme Court judgment that annulled the Ibadan convention attended by some PDP members. He said the ruling confirmed the current leadership structure within the party and should put an end to internal disputes and court cases.
He urged members of the PDP to accept the court’s decision and work together for the unity of the party. According to him, the PDP in Rivers State is now united under one leadership and should focus on strengthening the party instead of continuing political battles.
In his words, “Fortunately in December 10, Fubara left for the APC, Then, myself, those of us that remained in the PDP, rejoined the faction of the FCT Minister Wike, we collapsed our faction.”
