First Lady donates vehicles to APC women leaders in opposition states

Oluremi Tinubu, first lady has donated vehicles to women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in five opposition-controlled states to support grassroots mobilisation and party activities.

The beneficiaries are APC women leaders in Abia, Anambra, Bauchi, Osun and Oyo states.

Tinubu announced the donation on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB) support group held at the State House, Abuja, saying the vehicles would be delivered before the end of the week and would belong personally to the recipients.

“The vehicles are your personal vehicles. You are not giving them to the party. Register them in your names and use them for the service of the party and your communities,” she said.

She urged APC governors across the country to also support women leaders with vehicles and other logistics, stressing the importance of women in political mobilisation and governance.

According to her, empowering women remains central to the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that women play a key role in strengthening grassroots political structures.

“I urge our governors to buy vehicles for their women leaders. We are not playing politics like before,” she added.

The First Lady also encouraged members of the Tinubu Torchbearers to intensify efforts in promoting government programmes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mary Alile-Idele, APC national women leader praised the initiative, noting that the group has established structures across all 774 local government areas to drive support for government policies and citizen engagement.
