Cape Coast, Ghana — Police have arrested a 39-year-old man, Michael Mensah, in connection with the alleged murder of University of Cape Coast (UCC) student, Innocentia Atsufui Avinu, in a case that has drawn widespread public attention and concern.
According to preliminary police investigations, the suspect was arrested on June 15, 2026, in Cape Coast following an intelligence-led operation. Authorities say the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
