Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has come under fire for attending designer Luminee’s baby shower.
Kemi Filani reported that on Monday, the popular designer shocked many when she announced the birth of her son with controversial actor, Baba Ijesha.
Following news of her child’s birth, clips from her baby shower had surfaced online. According to reports, Luminee was thrown a surprise baby shower by Eniola Ajao and Mercy Aigbe, who are two of her biggest clients.
Mercy’s appearance in the shower despite Ijesha’s scandal left Twitter users disappointed in her.
One Memnefer expressed disappointment in Aigbe for attending the event.
He tweeted,
“You really can’t predict the internet, to be honest. One minute, everything is quiet; the next, there is chaos that leaves you in shock.
Mercy Aigbe actually went to Luminee’s baby shower. I’m disappointed”.
Another tweep, identified as Big Uncle, noted how the actress was happy at the shower despite Ijesha’s scandal. He noted how she was jumping up and singing.
“Mercy Aigbe was present at the baby shower of the woman who gave birth to a child for Baba Ijesha after 7 months that he left prison.
Mercy Aigbe must be really happy with the way she’s jumping up and singing”.
While some concurred with them, others disagreed, noting how Aigbe and Luminee share a strong bond.

Recall that in 2021, comedienne Princess accused Ijesha of defiling her 14-year-old ward. In a video that was made available online, the actress accused Baba Ijesha of molesting her daughter without consent.
In 2022, Baba Ijesha had bagged 5 years imprisonment for raping comedienne, Princess’s 14 years old daughter.
On Friday, November 15th, 2025, the famous actor was released from prison, after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.
Announcing his release, actor Yomi Fabiyi shared on Instagram that he had been cleared by the Appeal Court. He stated that Ijesha wasn’t just back, but was better, and expressed his happiness that he had been cleared.
Speaking out, Baba Ijesha, in an interview with Biola, had addressed his rape allegations, maintaining that he isn’t a pedophile nor a rapist. He said Princess knows she has betrayed everyone she has ever been friends with, and expressed how hurt he was by how Iyabo Ojo turned on him. He noted that he had taken care of her kids when they were younger, yet she doubted him.
