Police have released CCTV images after a teenage girl was allegedly dragged away from her friends and r@ped at a busy train station.

An investigation has been launched after the victim was reportedly targeted during the “horrific” att@ck in Guildford, Surrey.

The alleged attacker is said to have approached the girl and her friends while they walked to Guildford train station on January 19.

After arriving at the station at around 7pm, the man reportedly attempted to get her to board a train with him.

When she rejected his request, he then asked her to have sex with him, to which she also said no.

The attacker then allegedly managed to lure her away from the group, before r@ping her outside the station.

She managed to flee her attacker and run back to her friends who were waiting at the entrance, British Transport Police (BTP) said.

The force has now released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

BTP Detective Sergeant Nick Thompson described the alleged att@ck as “horrific” and urged anyone with information to come forward.

He said: “The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack.

Specialist officers continue to support her and her family as we follow all lines of enquiry as part of our ongoing investigation.

We understand that this incident will cause concern among the local community.

I am appealing to them directly to help us identify the man in these images.

He may have vital information that could assist our investigation, so if you recognise him, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
