2027: It Is Not Going To Be Easy For Jonathan, Especially With BAT; It Will Be Rough —Momodu

African Democratic Congress chieftain Dele Momodu discussed the changing political climate in Nigeria, possible comebacks, and the level of intensity anticipated leading up to the 2027 general election in an interview that aired recently on The Morayo Afolabi-Brown Show.…....

“It will not be easy for Jonathan, especially with BAT; it will be rough,” Momodu exclaimed during the interview. He said it when he was talking about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political strength and the likelihood of Goodluck Jonathan’s return to office.

According to Momodu, entrenched power structures and prior leaders with national notoriety tend to make presidential campaigns in Nigeria more competitive. Significant political opposition and strategic obstacles would inevitably befall any possible return effort, in his view.

He went on to say that many powerful political figures are preparing for re-election, return campaigns, or candidatures supported by coalitions, so the 2027 election is going to be a tough and heated battle.

Noting that personal popularity is seldom sufficient to ensure triumph in a presidential contest in Nigeria, the ADC chieftain elaborated that electoral success is highly dependent on coalition strength, grassroots mobilisation, and political structure.

Additionally, Momodu stated that candidates in Nigeria need to be ready for intense campaigns, fierce opposition, and complicated electoral discussions due to the country’s increasingly complex and competitive political climate.

In his closing remarks, he emphasised that political comebacks in Nigeria are not impossible, but that they do necessitate meticulous preparation, solid coalitions, and the resilience to endure an emotionally charged and uncertain electoral climate.
