The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the withdrawal of Governor Siminalayi Fubara from the 2027 governorship race, insisting the decision was not forced on him by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The party described Fubara’s exit from the contest as part of a broader political understanding aimed at restoring peace and stability in Rivers State after months of internal political tension.
